How filming day 1 for the sound designer went!
As sound designer I made sure I did come prepared with some recordings of the sounds I created on my own time incase we needed it. Our meet up spot was at target to film at the pillars outside because we needed it in the background of our swede. On this meet up it was mainly just filming the scenes less of the major sound parts like the screaming, movement sounds, etc.
These are the way I helped on set:
1. I Helped hold the iPad for the cinematographer we were using to rewind and fast forward through the clip we choose to see the exact movements of each character. I also had to walk around to the actors and show them what they need to look like and the facial expressions to remember to do.
2.I helped with keeping each take we did of each shot accounted for with the hand signals and clap I did infant of camera to help the editor and made it more organized and easier to go to it knowing the shot you just did was said in the video.
3. Lastly I helped with putting the characters in the actual position they needed to be in and helped them go over where their ending positioning will be also.
Below is a video of me doing the hand signals
I played a big part in the filming on day 1 and without me it would not have been the same. I honestly feel 1 of the jobs I did shouldn't have been done by me but it did not matter anymore at the moment because it is my grade as well as everyone else in my group. It was very fun to recreate a film. I definetly next time would say to make sure everyone does know the lines that they'll be doing before hand so it would have made us have more time to do other things although that wasn't my job to be in charge of. At the end of the day, it was a good filming day 1 experience and it could have been worse but it wasn't.
