Day 2 of filming-Reflection

Day 2 of shooting turned out nothing like we planned. The outdoors was way darker than we expected, which made everything on camera look kind of fuzzy and not very sharp. To make matters worse, there were suddenly a ton of flies around, for some reason, which made everyone a little jumpy. At one point, an actor  spilled water. It wasn’t ideal, but we tried to roll with it and keep going.

Even though it was messy, it gave us a sense of what we really need to make our shots look polished. Some stuff just can’t be faked lighting and calm conditions matter a lot.

Props and Picnic Setup:

For the picnic vibe, we had to cobble together some props:

  • Baskets and cups: The sound designer brought these, which is me.

  • Blanket: Our cinematographer brought a blanket because you should put a blanket down before laying on the grass.

  • Water and cookies: The director provided these so the scene at least looked like a proper picnic,

Putting all these small things together helped the scene feel even more real, even with the accidental spills from the water because of flys attacking us while filming.

What To Keep In Mind:

In the end, we decided to reshoot the whole scene on Thursday. The goal is to get everything looking clean, bright, and clear. It’s annoying to redo things, but we want the film to feel professional, not sloppy. This time, we’ll keep the water from falling, try to avoid the flies and get the lighting just right.
