Writing the Script

Our group has made a lot of progress on writing our script, and we currently have majority of it completed. While not all of the dialogue is fully written out, we do have the entire plot planned out and agreed upon on as a group.This has made the writing process easier since everyone knows how the story is supposed to unfold. Even though my role in this project is sound designer, I made sure that everyone's ideas when writing the script was included and represented in the short film than just one persons perspective.

As we move forward, I need to have more conversations with my group members about the tone and mood that we want to convey in certain scenes. One important scene is when Micheal is encouraging Lena to drink the drink he spiked and depending on how the actor delivers his lines, the scene could come across as strange or forceful which is not what we want. Our goal is to for the interaction to look natural so that the audience isn't obtaining the wrong thing. Another idea I came up with that I will tell my group next class is when the over the shoulder shot of Micheal calling Claire happens, instead of it saying Claire as the caller id it says wifey or something that lets the audience know they are a couple.

How Claire's contact should pop up when he

 goes to call her instead of with a name only

 it could be with hearts, my queen, or bae

Early on in the planning process, my group and I decided that Veronica would be the one to suggest Lena to use a dating app. This choice was intentional because it sets up to later reveal that Claire was involved in the plan with Micheal from the very beginning. By adding in that detail early in the story, it helps the audience look back and realize claire's actions were not just random. Our group coming up with this helped strengthen the plot giving the audience a clearer understanding of how the characters are connected and how it was a conspiracy all along. We also said that the credits will be done showing after the scene of Claire showing the dating app to Lena.
