What do sound designers do?(Research)

In the future I will be a sound designer for my swede. This will be the last touch to the film. Therefore I need to understand what sound designers do in the making of a film. The challenges most sound designers have and work on that even more.

The importance of being a sound designer is they help they enhance the films emotional impact on the audience and creates the tone and mood of the film. They also make the film feel more realistic depending on the film, like jump scares people get which needs sound to complete the expectation.
