The importance of customs
Customs are more than just clothes the actors wear in films; they visual tell a person entire's personality and character development before any dialogue is even said. The way our actors dress for our short film will help the audience understand how they feel emotionally as a person and just who they are as a person. Choosing the right clothing for each different character is important for maintaining the authenticity in our short film as it does rely on emotions.
Character #1-Lena
Lena's character is more softer is supposed to give off a more softer vibe in the film. She has a gentle presence and carries herself in a sweet, calm full way. Lena shows her expressions mainly from her expressions, small gestures, and tones of voice. Me and my group was thinking Lena could wear more softer and innocent colors like pink and not darker ones that'll change what the audience think of her from the beginnings.
Things for me to keep in mind:
- Wear Brighter/Lighter colors
- Casual but still a clean look
- Simple natural fabrics
Claire is the more natural andthe sneaky character as well. She presents herself as calm, reliable, and not to much in the way of anyone. Her sneakiness isn’t obvious — it’s shown through small actions, lingering glances, quiet decisions, and moments where she withholds information. This contrast between her natural, innocent appearance and her calculated behavior makes her character intriguing and slightly unpredictable, adding tension to the story without her ever having to raise her voice.
- Slightly more relaxed styling
- Sarker colored clothing
- Natural or earth tones
- Comfortable, everyday clothings
- Natural colors
- More relaxed styling
